THE RAINBOWS

Hello again from all at The Rainbows.

We have so far had a busy year with lots of games, baking and crafts.  In September we made grass heads and had fun cutting their 'hair' when it eventually grew.   Messy night saw us making Bird Feeders, using pine cones, lard and bird seeds.  We had help that night from a mum and Sonya (one of our Elders) came along too.  Healthy eating saw us making fruit kebabs and smoothies, both were good fun to make and even better to eat and drink. Halloween Party was a great success and all the girls who came along enjoyed it, think the goodie bags they got on the way home were a hit too.

We have been busy making Reindeer and Angel magnets which will be sold at our Coffee Evening. We made edible sparklers and rocket bookmarks.

This year there has been a County Challenge which we took part in.  All the Rainbows were given a smartie tube and after eating the sweets, they were asked to fill the tube with coins and hand them back, all monies raised will be going to Redburn Primary School toward the cost of a Hydrotherapy Pool, all who took part will receive a badge for there contribution.

As Christmas is nearly upon us we will be doing our Christmas crafts and then looking forward to our Party. This year we have decided to have Gary the Magician come along and entertain us.  Hopefully a Red Suited Gent will also visit.

Our thanks again go to Margaret and Sonya, our Elders, Jim the hall keeper, The Session and all the congregation at Old Monkland Church for all support shown to the Rainbows in this past year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from

Christine, Susanne and all the Rainbows xx
