Hello everyone!

We got the new session of to a bang with our first ever camp at Fordell Firs Scout Activity Centre from 28th - 30th August. Almost every one in the unit was able to come and we earned our craft badge and got to do lots of activities including a camp fire, archery, a messy challenge/assault course and we used the bungee trampoline. Jillian screamed the place down and Emily fell on her bum which was hilarious. Laura was the sensible one for once and kept her feet firmly on the ground! Jillian and Laura managed not to poison any one when they were assessed on the next part of their camp/holiday licence and successfully completed the catering element.

The very next weekend saw the launch of our centenary year but we had a special birthday of our own to celebrate first.  The 5th of September was our first birthday and we had a party with games and a special cake. We can't believe that we have been open and running for a whole year now. That said Jillian is starting to go grey. Are the two things connected?

We would like to thank everyone for their continuing support as we certainly wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for the folk at Old Monkland.

We have remained busy the whole session with badge work and Go for it's. We even managed a trip to the Time Capsule for a swim and have lots more fun activities planned for the rest of the year and into the New Year. We have lost a few guides and gained a few guides and are always looking for new members aged 10-14 to join us.
